Family Preservation Services (FPS)

Our services focus on crisis intervention and family education program. We conduct both short-term and long-term interventions. We work in partnership with Children, and Youth Services to provide services to families who have children at imminent risk of out-or-home placement and to families who are preparing to be reunified with their children. We also provide services to foster parents who are in need of assistance to maintain stability with the children that they are caring for. Our number one goal is to ensure the safety of children; stabilize the family; prevent out of home placement; improve family functioning; and assist families with accessing appropriate community resources that will benefit their current needs.

The organization is focused on making a difference and creating a positive impact on individuals’ lives through service, support and building their new day. It is the organization’s goal to continue to work with families for stabilization and reunification to assist with the preservation of intact families. Ascend Counseling Services are strength based, solution-based, flexible, and responsive to the different circumstances, characteristics and needs of the families.

We employ the “Nurtured Heart Approach”, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques, SBC and Motivational interviewing skills to inform our practice as a guide in delivering our interventions.
